injury, pain & strength

“I aim to instill confidence & resilience in each client

with up to date education & individualised care.”

I am a Physical Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Trainer.

I specialise in Rehab Programs for:

  • acute muscle, tendon joint injury

  • slow onset injury & unresolved past injury

  • age related degenerative changes (OA, meniscus)

  • persistent pain (neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee).

Rehab Programs are monitored, adjusted & progressed remotely.

  • Eliminating the need for repeat appointments and additional costs.

  • I do not upsell ongoing in person ‘follow ups’.

I provide Strength & Conditioning Programs, 1 to 1 Strength Training

& a Strength Training Pathway.

  • S&C for sport facilitates better performance and reduced incidence of injury.

  • S&C for longevity stimulates strength, stability and mobility for improved physical capacity as we age.

Sports Massage Trigger Point Therapy can help us recover from physical and psychological stress. I use them:

  • for pain relief and symptom management

  • to reduce discomfort from training, sport and work

  • for stress relief and improved sleep.

About me
Injury & Pain Rehab

Injury Rehab

  • Effective rehab is ‘person centred’. If we tailor the rehab programme to the person (not just the injury) we get the best outcomes.

  • For professional & recreational athletes injury rehab is training in the presence of an injury. We employ training modifications, mitigate against loss of fitness and carry out targeted exercises.

  • For less active individuals rehab is about understanding injury recovery. What activities they may need to avoid for a period of time, what they should continue to do and how the rehab exercises will help to optimise healing.

Persistent Pain Rehab

  • ‘graded exposure’ approach to persistent pain uses education & exercise to help individuals understand how to self manage sites of pain.

  • It is a long term and cost effective approach. Reducing reliance on pain medication and manual therapy treatments (massage, chiropractics & osteopathy).

  • The intention is to develop confidence, improve function and reduce pain. To allow people to do the things they love without the fear or worry that they are ‘making things worse’.

“Person Centred rehab addresses the injury &

the individual with the injury.

using this approach we can design sustainable rehab programs with effective long term outcomes.”

S&C

“if Appropriate exercise selection is a necessity,

then Well thought out programming is the key

to efficiently developing strength adaptations.

Strength & Conditioning

  • Each person will have different goals and different entry points for strength training.

  • I teach clients the ‘stimulating reps’ model. Which explains how why we adapt to external load.

  • Next, I guide them in how to apply itIn this way clients can make informed & effective training decisions.

  • The strength training programs I design can be carried out in a home or gym environment. This is to optimise sustainability in line with a client’s schedule and preferences.

  • 1 to 1 strength training provides clients a safe, supportive & motivating environment to learn strength training technique & progress load.

  • A strength training pathway combines an S&C program with regular 1 to 1 training. Providing clients with the knowledge and skills to strength train sustainably for the rest of their lives.

Testimonial

This is the space where practitioners or clinics traditionally include slides of ‘positive’ reviews.

Every website is therefore full of the same cherry picked ‘positive reviews’.

Is that information actually of any use? It seems a pointless trend to me.

I have spent months of my life building this website. It authentically shows the way I work & my attitude to musculoskeletal health care.

I’d love for a prospective client to:

  • read through my website info and see the passion I have for my work

  • recognise my knowledge base and skill set

  • see the services I offer and decide…‘this is the clinician for me’.

From that point onwards I will let the interactions we have and service I provide do the talking.
